MS Coast is hotspot for religious exemptions

Harrison and Jackson counties recorded the highest number of religious exemptions to vaccination in the state, according to data from the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Data for some counties is not included because state health officials suppressed counts under 5 to ensure privacy. The health department said there were no religious exemptions Humphreys County or Issaquena County. The data also does not include 1,139 exemptions in which the the parent or guardian did not list the "School County" on the request.
