Each city is scored out of 30 on six factors, for a maximum of 180. A higher score is better on every factor, so on meal cost the cheapest city scores highest.

The factors are MICHELIN Guide street food listings, Viator street food tours and ratings, meal cost (Numbeo), international and local-language search volume (Ahrefs), and Instagram hashtag posts. The Michelin Guide doesn’t cover Indonesia, Cambodia or Laos, so cities there score 0 on that factor. Data collected 16–18 September 2026.
