Out of the 1,234 gun deaths in Missouri in 2024, 730 were suicides

Overall gun suicide rate in Missouri increased by 15% in 2024 compared to 2015. Since 2021, the nationwide firearm suicide rate reached record highs, while the overall gun death rate decreased. Despite these rising fatalities, there is no law in Missouri governing safe gun storage.
