West Virginia Data Centers
The projects identified represent large scale data centers in active development. Almost all are set to derive most or all of their energy from independent power stations known as microgrids. Many small-scale data centers related to telecommunications already exist in West Virginia, but in recent years, and most notably with the passage of House Bill 2014 in 2025, West Virginia has positioned itself to become a hub for energy production, technology and the emergent data center industry.
