Miami-Dade consumer spending isn't growing like it did last year or the year before, causing concerns about the county's sales-tax funding. This chart shows year-over-year change in three different sources of sales tax. One is the half-percent sales tax dedicated to transportation. Another combines three taxes charged in Miami-Dade hotels, which total 6 percent. The third is a portion of Florida's 6 percent sales tax shared with local governments.
