Students in southwest Illinois did poorly compared to the state average of high school juniors on the SAT in 2017, the first year it was used as the standardized state test. Local students in grades 3 through 8 improved during the three years the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers has been given, slightly edging their peers statewide.
