A look at the 500 best-paid employees in Miami-Dade County's payroll system in 2014. This list does not include employees of Miami-Dade's Jackson hospital system. It also separates employees whose final paychecks represented more than 10 percent of their annual compensation. That tends to happen when an employee exits Miami-Dade, and receives a large payout for accumulated leave or deferred-retirement earnings. Employees that would have made the Top 500 if not for the large-paycheck rule are placed at the bottom of the list.
